The Coach Tourism and Transport Council (CTTC) has announced that it supports the proposal by Minister Dempsey to reduce the drink driving limit.

The Council, which is the main representative organisation for Ireland's private coach and bus operators, believes that lower blood alcohol levels will lead to safer roads.

CTTC Chief Executive Gerry Mullins said: "We support the proposed reduction in blood alcohol limits because we expect the measure will make our roads safer, and because it will encourage more people to use their local coach, bus and taxi companies instead of taking their cars."
