NAADI (National Association of Approved Driving Instructors) has called on the Government to lower the drink drive limit from 80mg to 50mg for all drivers and to 20mg for learner drivers without delay or it will cost lives.

A spokesperson for Naadi said “Drinking and driving do not mix as already reported in the adi news. This is not new. It is a well known and reported fact that drinking negatively effects your driving. Drinking and driving do not mix.

From a professional driving instructors standpoint, our firm belief is, if you are going to get behind a wheel and drive you should do so with the full knowledge you are not going to drink any alcohol or if you are you are getting a taxi home or acting as a designated driver.

As instructors who are responsible for teaching the drivers of tomorrow good and life long road safety habits. We are appalled at the bad example our politicians are setting to the youth of this country. How any politician can argue against improving road safety for everyone is beyond us.”
